Introduction of Dialysis

Different molecules are separated from solutions in dialysis technology via varying diffusion rates across semipermeable membranes. Semipermeable membranes can only allow small molecules of a certain size to pass freely, but proteins with large molecular weights cannot. By selectively passing through molecules of a certain size, the purpose of separating the purified substances from impurity ions is finally achieved.

Since the separation and purification of proteins are crucial to many biological assays, laboratories usually use dialysis to separate them from the small molecules they contain.

The Main Role of Our Dialysis Systems

  • Desalination
  • Electroelution
  • Refolding and Denaturing Rebuffering
  • Remove unwanted substances
  • Changes in pH
  • Protein concentration

  • Purification of cell extracts

Overview of Dialysis tubing

Researchers typically perform dialysis using dialysis tubing bags or dialyzers of various sizes. Among them, dialysis tubing is an artificial semipermeable membrane tubing, which is widely used in protein dialysis techniques based on the principle of differential diffusion. Tubings of various sizes provide sufficient maneuverability and flexibility to facilitate sample processing. Dialysis tubing is now available in a variety of sizes and molecular weight cut-offs (MWCO) to facilitate research in laboratories. Biological samples, such as blood or serum, are commonly cleaned and processed using dialysis tubing in life science research.

Types of Our Dialysis Tubings

  • 1K MWCO
  • 4K MWCO
  • 8K MWCO
  • 15K MWCO
  • 50K MWCO

Models of molecules moving across restrictive membranes are often visualized using dialysis tubing. It is also used in teaching to demonstrate the principles of diffusion, Brownian motion, and osmosis. In addition to the pipe specification, the dialysis performance of the dialysis membrane is also excellent.

Applications of Our Dialysis tubings

  • Dialysis of small sample volumes
  • Equilibrium dialysis for buffer exchange
  • Dialysis for single-use applications, such as infectious and radioactive samples
