Introduction of Agarose Beads

The size of molecules in size exclusion chromatography (SEC) is determined by their apparent sizes, which depend on their molecular weight and shape. To enable higher flow rates and faster analysis, resins with solid cores and porous shells are commonly used in analytical SEC. Resins can be made from natural polymers (cross-linked dextran or agarose), synthetic polymers (cross-linked polyacrylamide or polymethacrylate), composites of natural and synthetic polymers, or silica. Agarose is an electrically neutral polysaccharide agar extracted from red algae. It has special gelling properties, especially remarkable stability, hysteresis, and hysteresis, and it is easy to absorb water and has a special stabilizing effect. With the development of biotechnology, it is more and more widely used in gel electrophoresis, affinity chromatography, molecular sieve, immunology research, and other fields.
