Introduction of MBP-Tag Purification
Maltose binding protein (MBP), which consists of 346 amino acid residues, has a molecular weight of about 42 kD. It is one of the members of the E. coli maltose transport system and is mainly responsible for the capture and transport of maltose. MBP can promote the soluble expression of fusion proteins, especially for eukaryotic proteins that are difficult to express, and membrane protein viral proteins have a good ability to solubilize and express. MBP-Tag is widely used due to the advantages of high expression level and easy purification of recombinant protein expressed by MBP fusion.
