Custom Resin Process
Phase 1: Library Screening
We will first analyze your separation requirement, select candidate resins from our resin library, and simulate actual separation to perform separation performance evaluation. New resins will be designed if no choice fully meets the requirement. The result of this phase is a prototype resin that can be used directly to scale-up or further optimize it.
Phase 2: Prototype Resin Development
At this phase, the properties of the prototype resin are optimized. Ligand immobilization was investigated to provide superior performance. Statistical DoE (design-of-experiments) methods are employed to study optimize the coupling conditions. In the process of polymer synthesis, different properties of the products, such as particle size, dispersity, porosity, surface chemistry are evaluated by changing different synthetic factors. Contour plots or response surface plots of the DoE result is provided. By selecting the optimum ratio of synthetic parameters, the optimum condition of synthetic is determined. The performance of the final resin will be much better than that of the first-generation materials and benchmark resins.
Phase 3: Scale-up
When the candidate resin with the best performance is identified, the resin process is scaled up to achieve the required scale of production. Process validation is performed in this process to maintain the overall scale and obtain resin for regulatory support document cGMP suitable. We are responsible for the production and quality assurance of the final product, which can be supplied as bulk materials or packed into chromatographic columns.
