Mass Spec Grade Asp-N is a recombinant metalloprotease that selectively cleaves peptide bonds located at the N-terminal side of aspartic acid (Asp) residues. It performs optimally in acetate, Tris, or phosphate buffers within a pH range of 6.0 to 8.5.
Physical Appearance
Mass Spec Grade Asp-N protease is a lyophilized powder (containing 10 mM Tris-HCl)
Molecular Weight
24.5 kDa
Resuspension Buffer
Dissolve the sample by adding 50 μL of ultrapure water.
Storage
Keep powder at -20 °C; the reconstituted enzyme may be stored at either -20 °C or -80 °C.
Shelf life
Store at -80 ℃ for up to 12 months.
Usage Notes
Maintain a 1:50 (w/w) ratio of protease to protein in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5). Digest for 4 hours using a 37 °C water bath. Caution: Do not exceed 37 °C during incubation to prevent enzyme self-digestion.
