| HIC-021B | Butyl-S Fast Flow Hydrophobic Interaction Resin |
|
| Product Overview | Butyl-S resins are hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) media prepared by first introducing a 12-atom spacer arm onto the agarose gel microsphere backbone, then coupling n-butyl via a thioether bond. The butyl thioether ligand is designed to deliver selectivity distinct from other HIC media, based on the principle that different target molecules interact differently with the sulfur atom. This subclass of HIC is referred to as thiophilic hydrophobic interaction chromatography. Butyl-S resins are widely used for the separation, purification, and refolding of proteins, as well as for purifying enzymes, viral particles, antibodies, and nucleic acids. Two butyl-S resins are available: Butyl-S Fast Flow Hydrophobic Interaction Resin and Butyl-S Hydrophobic Interaction Resin. Butyl-S Fast Flow Hydrophobic Interaction Resin features favorable agarose matrix compatibility with bioactive macromolecules, low non-specific adsorption and fast flow rates. Butyl-S Hydrophobic Interaction Resin offers high rigidity, high flow rates and a high capacity. |
