Ca-416C | Capto Butyl resin | Inquiry |
Product Information | |
Cat#No# | Ca-416C |
Product Overview | Useful for the intermediate stages of protein purification, Capto Butyl HIC resin combines high capacity, high flow rate, and low back pressure to reduce process cycle times. Improved productivity and process economy in downstream operations compared with Butyl Sepharose 4 Fast Flow. Very high flow rates and large sample volume processing. Excellent chemical stability. Resin fulfills industrial demands for security of supply, robust performance, and regulatory support. |
Description | Capto Butyl is hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) resins used in the capture and intermediate stages of protein purification. Their combination of high capacity, narrow specification range, high flow rate and low backpressure consistently reduces process cycle times and increases productivity. The Capto product range comprises modern resins that meet the demands of large-scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing today. |
Characteristic | Improved productivity and process economy in downstream operations. Very high flow rates and large sample volume processing. Excellent chemical stability. |
Maximum operating pressure | 300 kPa at 600 cm/h, 1 m diameter column, 20 cm bed height. |
Ligand Coupling Method | Ether linkages and hydrophilic spacer arm |
Matrix | Highly cross-linked agarose |
Average particle size | ~75 µm |
Ligand | Butyl |
Ligand density | Approx. 53 μmol/ml drained medium |
Coupling chemistry | Epoxy |
Dynamic binding capacity | ~ 27 mg BSA/mL resin |
Recommended flow rate | 600 cm/h |
Recommended column height | 20 cm |
Chemical stability | Stable to commonly used aqueous buffers. |
pH working range | 3–13 |
CIP stability | 2–14 |
Autoclavable | 17 min at 121°C in 0.1 M KH2 PO4 pH 8.0, 10 cycles |
Storage | 4 to 30°C, 20% Ethanol |
Cleaning-in-place | Regular cleaning with 0.5–1.0 M NaOH. NaOH has the ability to dissolve proteins and saponify fats. Strongly bound substances can be removed by washing with 5– 10 column volumes (CV) of up to 70% ethanol or 30% isopropanol. |
Sanitization | General recommendation is to use 1.0 M sodium hydroxide in Capto HIC resin CIP protocols, as well as for sanitization. |
