| Cat#No# | CM-438C |
| Product Overview | CM Sephadex C-25 is a weak cation exchanger based on the well documented and well proven Sephadex base matrix. Weak cation exchanger suitable batch techniques. High binding capacities. |
| Description | Sephadex ion exchangers are produced by introducing functional groups onto the cross-linked dextran matrix. These groups are attached to glucose units in the matrix by stable ether linkages. |
| Metal ion capacity | 4-5 mmol/g |
| Matrix | Cross-linked dextran |
| Ionic Exchanger Type | Weak cation |
| Particle Size | 40 µm-120 µm |
| Ligand | Carboxymehyl |
| Dynamic binding capacity | lgG (Mr 160 000)- 1.6 mg/mL drained resin), Bovine COHb (Mr 69 000)- 70 mg/mL drained resin), Ribonuclease (Mr 13 700)- 190 mg/mL drained resin) |
| Recommended flow rate | ≥ 120 cm/h |

| Physical stability | Negligible volume variation due to changed in pH or ionic strength. |
| pH working range | 6–10 |
| CIP stability | 2–13 |
| Autoclavable | 30 min at 121°C in 0.1 M sodium chloride. |
| Storage | 4 to 30°C, dry resins. Used resins 4 to 8 °C in 20% Ethanol or 0.01 M NaOH |
| Cleaning-in-place | Remove ionically bound proteins by washing the column with 0.5 to1 bed volume of a 2 M NaCl solution. Remove precipitated proteins, hydrophobically bound proteins and lipoproteins by washing the resin with 1 bed volume of a 0.1 M or 0.001 M NaOH. Strongly hydrophobically bound proteins, lipoproteins and lipids can be removed by washing the resin with up to 70% ethanol or 30% isopropanol. Alternatively, wash the resin with 2 bed volumes of detergent in a basic or acidic solution. After treatment with detergent always remove residual detergents by washing with 5 bed volumes of 70% ethanol. |
