  Each empty column comes with one end cap, one retaining ring, and a filter disc inserted as bed support. An extra filter disc is also provided for extra support and cleaning flow through when needed. The filter disc can also be placed on top of the gravity-settled medium bed to prevent the medium from drying during preps and storage. The ring is optional. When it is used, it helps keeping the top frit in place during the chromatography application.
