Fast Green FCF (0.1%) staining solution is an acid dye, used for staining plant histology and cytology. Fast green staining covers a wider range of protein concentrations than Brilliant Blue R and shows a linear relationship. After electrophoresis, the staining is more sensitive when the protein is fixed on the gel.

Characteristic
The detection range is wider than that of Coomassie Brilliant Blue, and the sensitivity is higher. Fast Green is a dye for dyeing cellulosic tissues containing pulp. It is widely used in dyeing cells and plant tissues. It is listed as the three most commonly used dyes in plant histology alongside hematoxylin and safranine.
Applications
Used for protein staining in IEF, PAGE and SDS-PAGE.
