Widely used for chromatographic analysis and industrial production of organic compounds, natural products, and biomolecules. Two types of normal-phase silica are available: unbonded silanol and bonded diol phases, to meet the separation and purification needs of polar compounds of varying polarity, particularly for polar compounds prone to tailing.
