Common Name | Protein A/G |
Product Overview | rProtein A/G Agarose 4FF is an affinity chromatography medium designed for easy, one-step purification of a boarder range of immunoglobulin classes and subclasses. It is versatile, adaptable tool for antibody purification and immunoprecipitation. Recombinant fusion Protein A/G is a genetically engineered protein (MW ~ 50 kDa) that contains four Fc binding domains from Protein A and two from Protein G and therefore combines the IgG binding profiles of both Protein A and Protein G. The binding of rProtein A/G to immunoglobulins shows less pH-dependent than Protein A. In addition, unlike native Protein A and Protein G that contain albumin-recognition region and binding sites for other proteins, rProtein A/G has these non-immunoglobulin binding sites eliminated, showing super binding specificity for a variety of immunoglobulins. rProtein A/G Agarose 4FF has rProtein A/G immobolized onto highly cross-linked 4% agarose beads via a stable thioether linkage. The coupling technique is optimized to give a high binding capacity for IgG. |
