Common Name | Protein G |
Product Overview | rProtein G Agarose is an affinity chromatography medium designed for easy, one-step purification of immunoglobulins, notably most mammallian IgG isotypes, as well as Fc region-containing fusion proteins. Protein G is derived from Streptococcus strain G148. It contains binding sites for the Fc portion of mammalian IgG. Native protein G has 3 IgG binding domains as well as the sites for albumin and cell-surface binding. Our recombinant protein G contains only the IgG binding domains but no albumin recognition region, therefore, it is compatible with purification protocols that require the presence of fetal bovine serum (FBS) or serum albumin proteins. Showing super binding specificity for IgG species, rProtein G Agarose enables single-step purification of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies with a greater than 95% purity, and is well suited for IgG purification from various sources, including crude samples of tissue cultures and sera. |
