Product Overview | rProtein L Agarose 4 Fast Flow is an affinity chromatography medium designed for easy, one-step purification of immunoglobulins, as well as Fab, scFv fragments of immunoglobulins from biological fluids and from cell culture media at both laboratory and process scale. Protein L is first isolated from the surface of bacterial species Peptostreptoccus magnus and now recombinant Protein L is obtained by gene recombination technology. Unlike Protein A and Protein G, which bind primarily through Fc regions of immunoglobulins, Protein L binds the variable region of antibodies kappa light chain and binds a wider range of Ig classes and subclasses. Protein L is therefore particular suitable for capture of a wide range of different-sized antibody fragments such as Fab fragments, single-chain variable fragments (scFv) and domain antibodies (dAbs). It is also suitable for mouse IgM purification from cell. rProtein L Agarose 4 Fast Flow utilizes a stable thioether linkage between rProtein L and the cross-linked agarose beads and is optimized for high binding capacity for immunoglobulins. |
