Strep-tag II is composed of only eight chemically balanced amino acid short peptides (Trp-Ser-His-Pro-Gln-Phe-Glu-Lys), making the effect on the structure and activity of the recombinant protein negligible. Therefore, during the purification process, there is no need to remove Strep-tag II from the target protein; Meanwhile, the target protein can be purified under physiological conditions. Compared with other Tags, these mild purification parameters can preserve the biological activity of the protein and obtain the target protein with a purity of over 99%.
