Carboxymethyl (CM) cross-linked dextran C-25 couples carboxymethyl groups onto cross-linked agarose microspheres, forming a weak cation exchanger. Retains favorable hydrophilicity and pore structure, compatible with bioactive molecules, minimal nonspecific adsorption. Ideal for small molecules like antibiotics and natural products. Not suitable for fixed-bed columns due to volume changes in different buffers.
