Introduction of Antibody Affinity Chromatography

As the use of antibodies in diagnostics, clinical therapy, and research continues to increase, techniques for purifying antibodies continue to develop. Antibody affinity chromatography is a kind of adsorption chromatography. The basic principle is that when the protein sample to be separated passes through the gel containing a specific antibody or the surface of the substrate bearing the antibody, it will specifically bind to the antigen to form an antigen-antibody complex. The compound is then combined with a complex decomposing agent to decompose the complex to obtain the purification of the antigen. Affinity chromatography has the advantages of high selectivity and rapidity, which greatly improves the speed and efficiency of antibody research.

Antibody affinity chromatography has become one of the indispensable tools in the field of biological research and plays a key role in the purification of large quantities of antibodies.

Advantages of Our Products

  • Isolate any molecule with a specific antigen without additional technical support
  • Isolate molecules without altering the active ingredient, maintaining the effectiveness and activity of the molecule
  • High resolution, robust process, and easy platformization
  • High purification factor for accurate quantitative detection results
  • High recovery rate of activity
  • Fewer purification steps and short purification time are beneficial to the purification of unstable proteins
  • The use of organic solvents is reduced and the protection of the experimenter is enhanced

For example, Protein A and Protein G are proteins of bacterial (staphylococcal) origin that bind with high affinity to the Fc (fragment crystallizable) region of immunoglobulins (IgG), enabling the separation of IgG from serum fractions using antibody affinity chromatography.

Application of Our Products

  • Enrichment of target protein
  • Antibody Isolation from plasma
  • Antibody purification
  • Adsorption and purification of biomacromolecules without complementary ligands
  • Remove residual contaminants from purified molecules
